About the program

The Department of Accounting was established in 2008 (1429 AH) concurrently with the founding of the College of Business Administration, pursuant to Royal Decree No. 5150/MB dated 29/7/1429 AH, issued with the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council.

Since its inception, the department has been committed to delivering a comprehensive academic program that integrates both theoretical and practical aspects, with the aim of preparing qualified professionals to work in the fields of accounting, auditing, and related disciplines. The department offers a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, which serves as the foundation for entering the profession and pursuing advanced professional certifications.

In line with its vision of academic and professional excellence, the department launched the Accounting Bridging Program in 2024 (1446 AH), followed by the Master of Professional Accounting Program in 2025 (1447 AH). Future plans also include introducing additional graduate and diploma programs in response to the evolving needs and directions of the labor market.

The department is proud to include a distinguished group of faculty members with diverse expertise, in addition to sponsored students pursuing their graduate studies at renowned international universities. Since graduating its first cohort in the academic year 2012/2013 (1433/1434 AH), the department has continued to supply the labor market with highly qualified graduates capable of making meaningful contributions to business and financial sectors at both the local and national levels.
